Camelot Homes has purchased three parcels in Scottsdale with plans to build 29 luxury homes.

The Scottsdale-based homebuilder is investing $15 million to develop the three gated communities throughout the Scottsdale area, said Trent Hancock, vice president of marketing for Camelot Homes.

One 8.5-acre parcel at the southeast corner of 128th Street and Shea Boulevard will feature 12 homes between 1,800 and 3,500 square feet in a new community called Aura. That project is across the street from the new BASIS school, Hancock said.

Growing up in that area, it’s like a homecoming for Hancock.

“It’s a very unique location,” he said. “You don’t see something like that pop up very often. Right now, we’re seeing the Valley expanding so far out into the outskirts. Any time this pops up that close it’s a great opportunity.”

Plans also call for building eight homes on a 4.7-acre parcel at the northeast corner of 74th Street and Valley View Road, where homes will range between 4,000 and 6,000 square feet in a community called The Collection.

Another 3.1-acre parcel within the DC Ranch master-planned community south of the southeast corner of 92nd Street and Union Hills Drive will feature nine homes ranging between 2,800 and 3,500 square feet in a community called Legacy.

“What’s really cool is we were one of the first builders to build in DC Ranch when DMB conceived that idea,” Hancock said. “We’ve been building in there throughout the entire life cycle of that project. This is the last parcel in DC Ranch.”

All three of these communities are expected to break ground during the fourth quarter of 2022 and all will feature new product, Hancock said.
