REALTORS® Association Endorses Local Candidates

The Scottsdale Area Association of REALTORS® Candidate Review Committee recently concluded interviews with candidates running for local public office in four of the communities it serves: Scottsdale, Fountain Hills, Carefree and Cave Creek.

“Our committee read through reams of candidate questionnaires and then participated in virtual interviews with each candidate to determine who best represents the interests of our members and their clients,” said SAAR 2020 President Sindy Ready. Endorsements were then formally approved by the association’s board of directors.

Scottsdale endorsements went to:

  • Virginia Korte (mayor)
  • Tammy Caputi (city council)
  • Becca Linnig (city council), and
  • John Little (city council).

Fountain Hills has an uncontested race for mayoral and council seats.
SAAR wishes all of them the best and looks forward to working with them in the future.

Carefree endorsements went to:

  • Les Peterson (mayor)
  • John Crane (town council)
  • Vince D’Aliesio (town council)
  • Tony Geiger (town council)
  • Michael Krahe (town council), and
  • Cheryl Kroyer (town council).

Cave Creek endorsements went to:

  • Ernie Bunch (mayor)
  • Susan Clancy (town council)
  • Tom McGuire (town council)
  • Bob Morris (town council)
  • Kathryn Royer (town council), and
  • Ron Sova (town council).

The committee identified these “REALTOR® Champions” based on candidate experience, knowledge base, voting record, vision, goals and alignment with SAAR’s Public Policy Statement prioritizing issues that impact its members and local property owners.

SAAR encourages everyone to vote on August 4, 2020 in conjunction with the statewide Primary Election.

The last day to register to vote is at midnight on July 6, 2020; the first day to cast an early ballot is July 8. The last day to request an early ballot to be mailed is July 24, 2020 at 5 p.m. Click here for more information.
