Virtual Town Hall Highlights from June 25, 2020

On June 25, Scottsdale REALTORS® hosted a Virtual Town Hall with National Association of REALTORS® 2020 President Vince Malta, Chief Economist Lawrence Yun and Arizona REALTORS® Government Affairs Director Matt Contorelli. Below are some highlights.

Malta: “REALTORS® are active participants in promoting Equality, Inclusion and Acceptance. Consider the story of the Scottsdale Area Association of REALTORS® own Tamala Daniels. Some of you may know her story. Tamala has channeled her personal experiences with racism and discrimination into a mission to breakdown economic barriers. Tamala, on behalf of 1.4 million REALTORS® across the country, I want to personally thank you for all you’re doing to transform Scottsdale and neighborhoods across the country.”

Yun:The Phoenix market looks like a very similar pattern to the U.S., but note the one big difference…even with a job decline, it is way above what is was in 2010 or in the year 2000. Even with the job cuts, so many new residents are coming into Arizona and hence you are in a much better position compared to the rest of the country.”

Contorelli: “There was a lot of defense behind-the-scenes with these legislative wins…working with our contract lobbyist and those REALTOR® Party Champions that we developed and cultivated at the state legislature.”
