Effective February 1, 2019 the Scottsdale transaction privilege tax (TPT) rate will be 1.75% and the use-tax rate 1.55% (both up 0.10%). Tax returns for February, that are due in March, must reflect this change.
Taxpayers will continue to submit their tax returns to the Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) and everyone who has a TPT and use-tax obligation to Scottsdale must have a license with ADOR and have Scottsdale (SC) listed as a region code.
Residential Rentals must still be registered with Maricopa County and are subject to TPT if an owner has three or more rentals in the State of Arizona.
Commercial Rentals must have a City of Scottsdale Business Registration license and a TPT license with ADOR. In addition, all short-term rentals (stays under 30 days) have a tax liability and owe TPT and transient lodging tax and must be licensed with ADOR.
