As we approach the 2017 REALTOR® Legislative Meetings in Washington D.C. (May 15-20); we are preparing for all of the issues of critical importance to be discussed with our Members of Congress. Several issues have emerged which if enacted through legislation, will be highly disruptive to real estate markets across the nation. Among the most prominent issues are:
• Tax Reform
• National Flood Insurance Program Reauthorization
• Government Sponsored Enterprises (GSE) Reform – Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac
• GSE Guarantee Fees (G-fees)
To review a detailed summary of these issues, their impact on the real estate industry, and what the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) has been doing to educate Congress on these issues; check out this article titled, “Spring Break Report from NAR Government Affairs”.
